Friend Luc;
I see you say 'That must be based on different definitions.'
I would like to ask you about these comparisons. I have had a small number of discussions about how to compare boats. I see most boat comparisons arbitrary and capricious.
To me, after thinking on this, the only real way to compare boats is cost. Value. Best match for requirements per dollar.
The reason I suggest this comparison is it is objective, simple, and relevant. Also it brings into focus that some boats are way cheaper than others.
Now I will reveal my bias. I do not think smaller than Ex40 is useful. As I am building a E25, this may seem silly.
So, to your question, I ask, as I am not a sailor, what is the cost of said Tricat 20 and Dragonfly 25?

Suggests they are 43k€ and 90k€ respectively.
Given the cost of these boats, why build anything smaller than an Ex40?
Although it is fair to ask Rob what the price of a built EX40 would be, for comparison. Really, the Ex40 should be compared to other plans boats. But, hey, it's your party.
And perhaps at that price a smaller version becomes viable.
Given the accommodations of the tricat 20

Perhaps a small camper on the E25 could be comparable???
If so, can we compare the E25 to the Tricat20? The sail areas seem similar.
I had looked at putting a dome tent on the E25. But, I am not a sailor.
I didn't like the pod. I think I want to be able to have shelter while sailing the E25. I thought to sink the foot well of the camper pod into the ww hull, split the camper top and tip the top half to lee, and sail seated under it, but meh. Dome tent seemed better.
Perhaps I'll just build a thing like Doug did on sidecar.
My point in this rambling part, is as HP's get small, the SEEM to get difficult. And I think we bias toward small discussions, because we are not used to cheap and long, which HP's are.
