I agree with the idea from Rudolf:
"I am quite happy with the ship as it is now, however I agree with
builder Rudolf that it would be interesting to build a new leeward hull
with a little more curve in the bottom line. This will help the nose to
stay above the waves and it will make turning easier. Rudolf and I also
agree that it would be better to place new retractable rudders close to
the bows, so they can be smaller and lighter. "
AND it is impossible to use lw-hull to walk to the dock.
I think our rig is OK. We just need screacher or gennaker for light
winds and more neutral balance . Some power is lost for rudders. The
rear rudder is always a bit angled, say 5-10 degrees to compensate drag
from ww-hull. Except when running with the jib only. Keep the ww-hull
light!!!
Come to sail our boat. This year season is almost over, but summer 2011
is waiting..

With this schooner rig the Blind Date can be steered even without
rudders, which would make it suitable for shallow waters.
