The problem with off axis fiber you refer to, would this be a issue if using sleeve as opposed to uni on off axis ? What I was referring to is a type of sleeve that can be pulled from the ends to get tight. Using a larger sleeve (within sleeve limits) will put fibers closer to length of sleeve. If it was used over uni it may be useful for pulling everything tight.
There is now a elastic carbon fiber uni sleeve that can be used up to 9", could this be of use in making mast or other parts on Harryproa.
This same company has some information on making carbon fiber shafts that may be of interest.
Could the easy rig mast be made as a eliptical or wing mast or a light weight wing over the roung mast ? With a wing sleave over the mast it could rotate independent of the mast/boom unit to control camber of sail. Or do you think there would not be enough benefit to justify the added work and expence of making a wing section on Harryproa?
